Maiden of Death
Volume II
With every war, death is unavoidable.
Chosen by divine prophecy and blessed by the Silenced Gods’ final act, Indigo Frost has spent the winter training for the inevitable.
War.
The spring thaw delivers the battle to Indigo, forcing her to rally troops and lead both the realm’s knights and her closest allies into a battle she’s sure she’s ill-prepared to face. On faith alone, she marches out to confront the gods’ nemesis—the dark sorcerer, Murquee. He’s summoned an evil army directly from the Plains of Despair with the intent of destroying mankind and all it holds dear.
Indigo’s quest to slay Murquee and free the gods from their tomb of silence won’t be easy. If she is to succeed, she must master the power of her runes, overcome the politics of the court and devise a strategy to conquer the superior numbers of Murquee’s army. The fear she harbors is immense, but her faith must prove greater if she has any hope to squash the advancing evil.
But in the midst of chaos and bloody battles, Indigo is faced with something she never thought to find.
Love.
She must find a way to balance the gut-wrenching sorrow of death and war against her newfound hopes of a future. And above all? She must live with the certainty that if she fails, the gods, and all mankind, will be no more.
